Interview with Thebignoticeboard.

First of please introduce yourself and your site to our readers?

My name is Gavin Phillips. I am 20 and currently in my first year at a University in Wales. I'm studying Business Management.

Most people have been inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage, where did you get your inspiration from?

This was also my inspiration. I thought it was an excellent idea and one that required very little capital to get started.

What software do you use to run your pixel page and why did you choose it?

I use Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks to run my website. They are both excellent apps and very easy to use.

What makes your site different or special, what angle have you taken for your Pixel page?

I've just taken Alex's idea and tried to put my own spin on it without just ripping it off completely. I have also got a Pixel Page that will be used to display pixels for pornographic advertisers. This is in a different section to the main page.

The original pixel page generated traffic mainly through viral marketing mainly spawned by media interest, how do you generate traffic to your site?

I will be trying to spread the name of the site through web message boards and other means.

What do you offer potential advertisers, how much do you charge and how much traffic do you envisage an advertiser could generate by advertising with you?

I charge $1 per pixel and with some sort of publicity I feel this would be money well spent.

Currently the top 5 Alexa ranked pixel sites enjoy a lot of interest from the public. How long do you think this will last, is there a long term future for pixel pages?

I think that there is a market for it. I hope that my site can become as big as the others in Alexa rankings.

Besides your own pixel page, which other pixel page do you secretly admire and why?

The only good one I have seen is themilliondollarhomepage. All of the others just seem to be people with poor pages that they have knocked up very quickly.

Thanks for your time in answering these questions. Before you go are there any comments you want to impart to our pixel hungry readership?

I would just like to invite them to have a look at my page and see what they think.
